The world famous Fenway Park will host a game between two rivals from the American League East division, the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays. The visiting Blue Jays are still considered a longshot to reach the playoffs and will send right-hander Drew Hutchinson (9-11) to the mound to take on the Red Sox and Clay Buchholz (6-8).

This is the first full season in the Majors for Hutchinson and for the most part, has pitched well. He is under .500 but has 143 strikeouts in 157 innings with a 4.47 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and .248 BAA. Hutchinson is coming off the best start of his career where he allowed just 1 hits in 7 innings with 9 strikeouts and 2 walks. He shut down the New York Yankees and will look to do the same against the Red Sox. He has allowed 12 hits in 41 at-bats to the Red Sox in limited play.

Buchholz is currently at the end of the worst season of his professional career. With a 5.40 ERA in 23 starts, Buchholz has made it difficult for the Red Sox to stay in games. In his last start, he had the best performance of his underachieving season, striking out 6 in 9 innings against the Tampa Bay Rays with just 3 hits allowed. Against the Blue Jays in his career, he has allowed 81 hits in 314 at-bats with 6 home runs allowed, including 2 from Edwin Encarnacion.
