On Wednesday night, Mark Buehrle (10-7) will be hoping that he can win his first game since June 1 when he and the Toronto Blue Jays face Jon Lester (10-7) and the Boston Red Sox.

Veteran left-hander Mark Buehrle could only make it through three innings against the New York Yankees last Friday and ended up suffering his seventh loss of the year. He allowed six runs on nine hits in the game and could only strike out two batters while walking one. That loss raised his ERA to 3.19, but he has still only given up 11 home runs on 135.1 innings of work.

Buehrle is one lefty that Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz likes to face. He is 25-for-79 against him with nine doubles, four home runs and 14 RBI in his career.

Jon Lester had a good start against the Tampa Bay Rays on the road last week, but he ended up with a no decision after the Rays caught back up and won the game 6-4. Lester pitched six innings in that one and allowed two runs on six hits while walking one and striking out seven. He now has a 2.52 ERA on the year and he has struck out 9.4 batters per nine innings.

Blue Jays All-Star outfielder Jose Bautista only has a .230 batting average in 61 at-bats versus Lester, but he also has three doubles, five home runs and 10 RBI against him.
