Right-hander Yu Darvish will be on the mound for the Texas Rangers on Sunday afternoon and will be taking on Tanner Roark and the Washington Nationals.

Yu Darvish was able to get his fifth win of the year a week and a half ago when he defeated the Detroit Tigers on the road. He went seven strong innings in that game and allowed just two earned runs on six hits while walking three and striking out six. Darvish has given up just 49 hits through 61.1 innings and has struck out 71 batters.

Nationals outfielder Denard Span has only faced Darvish four times so far in his career, but he has shown that he can hit him by getting three hits, including two doubles. Backup catcher Jose Lobaton is 0-for-4 against him with two strikeouts.

Right-hander Tanner Roark made his tenth start of the season last week against the Miami Marlins and picked up his third loss despite pitching pretty well in the game. He went seven innings in that start and allowed three runs on five hits while striking out four and walking just one. Roark now has a 3-3 record on the season with a solid 3.47 ERA.

Infielder Donnie Murphy is the only player on the Rangers who has faced Roark and he is 1-for-1 against him with a single and an RBI.
