Saturday afternoon, the Texas Rangers will send Colby Lewis to the hill to take on the Toronto Blue Jays and Marcus Stroman. Lewis makes his 17 ^th start as Stroman makes his 9^th start and 14^th appearance.

Colby Lewis evened his record at 6 - 6 with a 6.54 ERA after taking the loss in his last start. In that outing, Lewis was lit up for 13 runs and 13 hits (including a home run) in just 2.1 innings of work. He didn't allow any walks and only struck out 1 batter. It was the worst outing of the season for Lewis. Lewis missed some of the 2012 season and all of the 2013 campaign with elbow and hip injuries. In 2012, he went 6 - 6 with a 3.43 ERA in 16 starts.

Lewis pitched to a no-decision his only start against the Blue Jays in 2012. Many of the Blue Jays have faced him before but hits were hard to come by. Toronto's Jose Bautista is 4 of 11 with 2 home runs and 2 RBIs against Lewis.

Marcus Stroman escaped with a no-decision in his last start and that froze his record at 4 - 2 with a 4.05 ERA. In his last start Stroman allowed 6 runs on 8 hits (including a home run) in just 3.2 innings. He walked a batter and struck out 4. Stroman still hasn't completely adjusted to Major League hitters yet but he still has the 2^nd half of the season to improve.

Stroman has never faced the Rangers and will need to make great use of the scouting report prior to this start.
