Right-hander Nick Tepesch will have a tough task on his hands on Friday night when he and the Texas Rangers go up against Seattle Mariners ace Felix Hernandez.

Last Saturday, Nick Tepesch lost for the second time this season when he was defeated by the Cleveland Indians at home. He allowed four earned runs on eight hits in 5.1 innings of work in that game while walking four and striking out just one. Tepesch has given up 10.2 hits per nine innings this season and now has a 4.91 ERA.

Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager is 5-for-10 against Tepesch in his career with three doubles and an RBI. Star second baseman Robinson Cano is 2-for-3 against him with a double, a home run and two RBI.

On Sunday, Felix Hernandez had his five-game winning streak snapped by the Tampa Bay Rays, but he definitely deserved the win in that one. He pitched seven shutout innings in that game and allowed just four hits while walking one and striking out a season-high 15 batters. King Felix is 8-1 on the year with a very solid 2.39 ERA and has only allowed three home runs in 98 innings of work.

Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre has done well against Hernandez in his career, going 10-for-31 against him with a double, a home run and two RBI. Leonys Martin is 8-for-23 against him with a double, two triples and a home run.
