Joe Saunders will be making his fifth start of the season for the Texas Rangers on Saturday night when he faces 24-year-old Erasmo Ramirez and the Seattle Mariners.

Joe Saunders gave up just two earned runs in his start against the Cleveland Indians on Sunday, but he ended up taking his second loss of the year. He went 5.1 innings in that outing and gave up seven hits while walking four and striking out no one. Through 20 innings this season, Saunders is 0-2 with a 3.60 ERA.

Veteran Willie Bloomquist has gone up against Saunders 15 times and is 1-for-14 with a walk and a strikeout. John Buck and Logan Morrison are the only Mariners who have hit home runs of the left-hander.

On Monday, Erasmo Ramirez didn't give up a run to the Tampa Bay Rays, but he only ended up going 4.2 innings in that game. In the no decision, he allowed four hits and walked a season-high five batters while also striking out five. His ERA went down with that start, but it is still far too high at 5.97 and he has given up over two home runs per nine innings.

Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus has just one hit in six at-bats against Ramirez with a walk and a strikeout. Outfielder Shin-Soo Choo is 1-for-2 against him with a solo home run.
