On Wednesday afternoon, 25-year-old Nick Tepesch will be hoping to pick up his third win of the year for the Texas Rangers when they face six-game winner Sonny Gray and the Oakland Athletics.

Second-year starter Nick Tepesch pitched well against the Seattle Mariners on the road last Friday, but all he could get from the start was a no decision. He pitched 6.1 scoreless innings in that game and gave up just two hits while walking two and striking out five. He is 2-2 on the year with a 3.94 ERA and a 1.375 WHIP.

A's slugger Josh Donaldson has one it in three at-bats against Tepesch with a walk, a double and two RBI. Outfielder Yoenis Cespedes is 0-for-3 against him with a walk.

Right-hander Sonny Gray lost his second consecutive start last week when he was beaten by the New York Yankees in Oakland. He went six innings in that outing and allowed three earned runs on seven hits while walking one and striking out seven. Gray is 6-3 on the year with a very solid 2.93 ERA and he has only given up six home runs in 92 innings.

Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus has not been able to get a hit against Gray in seven at-bats, and Donnie Murphy is the only player on the team who has been able to hit a home run off of him.
