Veteran lefty Joe Saunders will be coming off the disabled list on Wednesday to start for the Texas Rangers and will face Kyle Gibson and the Minnesota Twins.

In early April, Joe Saunders made his one and only start this season and went 3.2 innings against the Tampa Bay Rays. He ended up taking the loss after giving up four earned runs on six hits while striking out four and walking three. In that start, he was hit in the ankle by a line-drive off of the bat of Evan Longoria, which landed him on the DL for nearly two months.

Twins catcher Kurt Suzuki has gone up against Saunders more than any of his teammates, but he is just 2-for-31 against the lefty with a home run and a strikeout. Joe Mauer has also hit a home run off of him, but that is the only hit he has against him in 11 at-bats.

Kyle Gibson lost for the fourth time this season when he was beaten by the San Francisco Giants last week on the road. He allowed five runs on five hits in five innings in that game while striking out four and walking none. He is now 4-4 on the year with a 4.68 ERA and has just 25 strikeouts in 50 innings.

All of the Rangers will be facing Gibson for the first time on Wednesday.
