23-year-old Nick Martinez will look to end his three-game losing streak when he and the Texas Rangers face Los Angeles Angels starter Hector Santiago on Saturday night.

Rookie Nick Martinez lost his fourth game of the year on Sunday when he was defeated by the Seattle Mariners on the road. He pitched pretty well in that game, though, by going six innings and allowing just two runs while striking out three and walking one. Through 13 starts, Martinez is now 1-4 with a 4.44 ERA and he has only been able to strike out 25 batters in 52.2 innings of work.

Some of the Angels will be going up against Martinez for the second time this season on Saturday. He pitched in two innings out of the bullpen in that game gave up two hits while striking out two.

Hector Santiago remained winless on the season after losing his start against the Atlanta Braves on Sunday. He went 5.1 innings in that start and allowed four runs on five hits while striking out four and walking two. He is now 0-7 on the season, but he has also only been getting 2.10 runs per nine innings from his offense.

Rangers outfielder Shin-Soo Choo has three hits in 10 career at-bats against Santiago with a solo home run and three strikeouts. Alex Rios is 3-for-6 against him with two home runs and four RBI.
