On Monday night, big right-hander Colby Lewis (9-11) will be making the start for the Texas Rangers when they face second-year starter Yordano Ventura (10-9) and the Kansas City Royals.

Colby Lewis pitched his second complete game of the season last week when he defeated the Seattle Mariners on the road. He gave up four runs in those nine innings of work while striking out seven hitters and walking one. Lewis still has a high 5.44 ERA on the year and he has given up 177 hits in 137.1 innings on the mound.

Royals veteran Josh Willingham is 8-for-24 against Lewis in his career with three doubles, four home runs and six RBI. Designated hitter Raul Ibanez is just 1-for-9 against him with three walks and two strikeouts.

In his last start, Yordano Ventura gave up just one run in six innings against the Texas Rangers on the road and picked up the win. He allowed just four hits in that start and walked three batters while striking out six. Ventura now has a 3.40 ERA on the season and he has only given up 13 home runs in 145.2 innings.

Rangers first baseman Mike Carp is 0-for-5 against Ventura in his career with a walk and two strikeouts. Third baseman Adrian Beltre has two hits in three at-bats against him with a double and an RBI.
