Right-hander Nick Tepesch will be making his first start of 2014 for the Texas Rangers on Wednesday when they go up against Scott Feldman and the Houston Astros.

Nick Tepesch certainly deserved this call-up to the Major Leagues after the solid job he did in the minors. He started seven games in Triple-A this season and had a 6-1 record with a 1.58 ERA and a 0.985 WHIP. He also gave up just 36 hits in 45.2 innings while striking out 41 batters.

Astros second baseman Jose Altuve is 3-for-6 against Tepesch, while Jason Castro has three hits in six at-bats with a double and a home run against him.

Scott Feldman made his last stat against the Baltimore Orioles on Friday and he ended up pitching six innings in that game and finished with a no decision. He gave up two earned runs in that outing on five hits while striking out six and walking none. His ERA through five starts is an excellent 1.93 and he's given up just 21 hits through 32.2 innings.

Outfielder Alex Rios has faced Feldman more than any of the other Rangers and is 11-for-38 against him with four doubles, two home runs and five RBI. Third baseman Adrian Beltre has struggled against the big right-hander over the years and has been held to just four hits in 21 at-bats.
