Rookie right-hander Nick Martinez (1-7) will attempt to pick up his first win since late-May when the Texas Rangers face Hector Noesi (5-8) and the Chicago White Sox on Monday night.

Last Tuesday, Nick Martinez lost his seventh game of the year when he was beaten by the New York Yankees at home. He went 5.2 innings in that outing and gave up six runs on six base hits while walking three batters and striking out two. He now has a high 5.08 ERA and he has only been able to strike out 34 batters in 78 innings of work.

The White Sox will be going up against Martinez for the first time on Monday night. Their right-handed hitters are probably looking forward to the matchup because they have a .919 OPS against him so far this year.

Right-hander Hector Noesi gave up six runs in six innings against the Detroit Tigers last Wednesday and ended up taking the loss. He allowed 10 hits in that loss and walked three batters while striking out three. Through 23 starts, he has a 5.21 ERA and has given up 117 hits in 107 innings on the mound.

Rangers outfielder Alex Rios has three hits in four at-bats against Noesi in his career with a home run and three RBI. Adrian Beltre is just 1-for-7 against him with no walks.
