Tampa Bay Rays lefty Erik Bedard will be going for his third win of the season when he goes up against Drew Hutchison and the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday night.

The Oakland Athletics were able to score three runs (one earned) against Erik Bedard last week and gave him his second loss of the season. He went 5.1 innings in that game and gave up just one hit while walking one and striking out six. Bedard has been solid this season by giving up just 29 hits in 37.2 innings of work with 28 strikeouts.

Melky Cabrera has not done well against Bedard in his career, getting just three hits in 21 at-bats and striking out five times. Shortstop Jose Reyes is 2-for-5 against him with a double and two RBI.

23-year-old Drew Hutchison made his tenth start of the season last Wednesday against the Boston Red Sox and was able to notch his third win. He made it through 5.2 innings in that start and allowed just one run on six hits while striking out four and walking two. He is now 3-3 on the year with a 3.45 ERA and has 59 strikeouts through 60 innings.

Hutchison has only gone up against the Rays a couple of times in his career and has held their hitters to a combined .158 batting average in 19 at-bats.
