Jake Odorizzi will attempt to win his sixth game of the year when he and the Tampa Bay Rays take on All-Star Adam Wainwright and the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday.

In his last start, Jake Odorizzi pitched 6.2 innings against the Toronto Blue Jays at home and came away with his fifth win of the season. He allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits in that outing while striking out seven and walking two. The right-hander is now 5-8 on the year with a 4.01 ERA and he has struck out 116 batters in 101 innings of work.

Outfielder Matt Holliday has one hit in two at-bats against Odorizzi with a walk and a solo home run. Matt Carpenter is hitless against him in three at-bats with no walks and a strikeout.

Adam Wainwright had yet another strong start his last time on the mound when he was able to beat the Milwaukee Brewers on the road. He pitched seven strong innings that day and gave up two runs on five hits while striking out four and walking zero. Wainwright is now 12-4 for the Cards this season and he has only given up 99 hits in 138 innings.

Rays first baseman James Loney has 12 hits in his 26 plate appearances against Wainwright with three doubles, a home run and two RBI. Shortstop Yunel Escobar is just 2-for-12 against him with a walk and a strikeout.
