In the opening game of their series on Monday night, the Tampa Bay Rays will start Alex Cobb while the Miami Marlins will be sending 37-year-old Randy Wolf to the mound to face him.

Right-hander Alex Cobb lost his second game of the year last Friday when he gave up a season-high six earned runs against the Toronto Blue Jays. He went five innings in that start and allowed nine hits while striking out nine and walking one. His ERA ballooned up from 1.40 to 2.93 in that loss, but he has only given up three home runs in 30.2 innings this season and he's struck out 27 batters.

Catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia has already faced Cobb 14 times in his career, but he has just two hits against him with five strikeouts. Power hitter Giancarlo Stanton is 0-for-3 against him with two strikeouts.

Veteran lefty Randy Wolf made his first start of 2014 last week against the Milwaukee Brewers and ended up losing after going five innings and giving up four earned runs against them. He allowed nine hits in that start and walked one while striking out three. He now has a 4.50 ERA through 10 innings of work.

Rays first baseman James Loney has three hits in 10 at-bats against Wolf with a double and two RBI. Yunel Escobar is just 2-for-11 against him in his career.
