The Tampa Bay Rays will send the struggling Chris Archer to the mound on Friday to face Jered Weaver and the Los Angeles Angels.

Last Sunday, Chris Archer picked up his second loss of the season when he was hit up for four runs by the Cleveland Indians. He went just five innings in that game and gave up eight hits while striking out a season-low two and walked four. After a decent start to the season, Archer is now 2-2 with a 5.16 ERA through eight starts.

Erick Aybar is just 1-for-6 against Archer in his career, but he does have a home run and two RBI against him. All-Star Mike Trout has four hits in his six at-bats against Archer.

Jered Weaver won for the third start in a row when he was able to beat the Toronto Blue Jays last Sunday. He made it through 6.1 innings in that outing and gave up just one earned run on four hits while walking two and striking out five. He currently has a 3.22 ERA and has given up just 42 hits through 50.1 innings.

Ben Zobrist has done well against Weaver in his career by going 6-for-18 with two doubles, one triple, one home run and four RBI. Will Myers has only faced Weaver three times, but he already has hit two home runs off of him.
