Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Chris Archer will take the mound on Saturday afternoon against five-game winner Jarred Cosart and the Houston Astros.

On Sunday, Chris Archer pitched 6.1 scoreless innings against the Seattle Mariners, but all he could get out of it was a no decision. He gave up just five hits in that start and walked one while striking out two. Archer has been able to strike out 69 batters in 76.1 innings of work this year while walking 29.

Astros second baseman Jose Altuve has just one hit in seven at-bats against Archer with no walks and no strikeouts. No one on Houston has been able to get an extra-base hit against the right-hander yet.

Jarred Cosart was able to get a road win on Monday by beating the Arizona Diamondbacks. He went six innings in that outing and allowed three earned runs on five hits while walking two and matching his season-high in strikeouts with eight. Cosart now has a 5-5 record on the year with a 4.19 ERA and he has only given up 66 hits in 73 innings while striking out 56.

James Loney and Ben Zobrist are the only players on the Rays who have been able to get hits off of Cosart in their career. The young right-hander has held the Rays who he has faced to just a .111 batting average through 18 at-bats.
