Tampa Bay Rays starter Chris Archer will be making the start on Saturday afternoon and will have to go up against Detroit Tigers right-hander Anibal Sanchez, who hasn't lost a game since April.

On Monday, Chris Archer pitched seven strong innings against the New York Yankees on the road, but all he got out of that start was a no decision. He gave up just two runs in those seven innings of work while striking out four batters and walking two. Archer only has a 4-5 record on the year for the Rays, but he also has a solid 3.24 ERA and he has only given up three home runs in 100 innings.

Second baseman Ian Kinsler has gone up against Archer more than any of the other Tigers, but he is hitless against the right-hander in six at-bats and he has been struck out four times.

Veteran Anibal Sanchez pitched well against the Oakland Athletics on Monday, but he also had to settle for the no decision. He went seven innings in that start and allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits while striking out two and walking zero. Sanchez has a 5-2 record through 14 starts with a very good 2.63 ERA.

Rays outfielder Matthew Joyce has gotten four hits off of Sanchez through 12 plate appearances with a double, two triples and a home run.
