Jake Odorizzi will be on the mound for the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday and will be taking on the Boston Red Sox, who will get a spot start from right-hander Rubby De La Rosa.

24-year-old Jake Odorizzi threw six solid innings against the Boston Red Sox last Saturday, but all he could get out of it was a no decision in a game the Rays eventually won 8-5. Odorizzi went six innings in that start and allowed just one run on four hits while striking out five and walking just one. The right-hander has improved quite a bit in his last three starts, lowering his ERA to 4.56.

Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia has faced Odorizzi six times in his career and has two singles against him. Daniel Nava is the only player on the Red Sox to hit a home run off of him.

Rubby De La Rosa was called up to replace Clay Buchholz for this start after pitching pretty well in the minors the last couple of weeks. In 10 starts at the Triple-A level, De La Rosa was 2-4 with a 3.04 ERA and he had only given up 42 hits in 53.1 innings of work. He hasn't made a Major League start since back in 2011, when he was 4-5 with a 3.71 ERA.

Evan Longoria and Wil Myers are both 1-for-1 against De La Rosa in their careers with a double apiece.
