Right-hander Alex Cobb (9-8), who has a 1.77 ERA in three starts this month, will be getting the start for the Tampa Bay Rays when they take on Clay Buchholz (8-9) and the Boston Red Sox

Alex Cobb gave up three earned runs in six innings against the New York Yankees last week and ended up losing for the eighth time this season. He allowed four base hits in that start and walked three while striking out three. Cobb has a 2.82 ERA this year and he has only given up nine home runs in 153.1 innings of work.

Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia has five hits in 18 at-bats against Cobb with two walks and two RBI. None of the Red Sox have been able to hit a home run off of Cobb in 110 combined at-bats.

Last Wednesday, Clay Buchholz only made it through four innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates on the road and ended up taking the loss. He gave up five runs (four earned) on six hits in that loss and struck out three batters while walking one. His ERA went up to 5.29 and he has given up 169 hits in 156.2 innings this year.

Rays catcher Jose Molina is 8-for-25 against Buchholz in his career with a double and four RBI. Ben Zobrist has just four hits in 36 at-bats against him with six walks and six strikeouts.
