Left-hander Erik Bedard will try to win just his fourth game of the season on Saturday afternoon when he and the Tampa Bay Rays face Wei-Yin Chen and the Baltimore Orioles.

On Sunday, Erik Bedard pitched 5.1 pretty good innings against the Houston Astros and ended up having to settle for the no decision. He allowed two earned runs in that outing on seven hits while walking one and matching his season-high in strikeouts with eight. Bedard is just 3-5 this season, but he has done a good job of keeping the ball in the ballpark by only giving up five home runs in 65.2 innings.

Orioles designated hitter Nelson Cruz has seven hits in his 23 at-bats against Bedard with a double, two home runs and four RBI. Delmon Young is just 2-for-21 against the lefty with eight strikeouts.

Wei-Yin Chen gave up three runs in his 5.2 innings of work against the Chicago White Sox on Monday and ended up coming away with a no decision. He allowed six hits in that outing and struck out three while walking two. Chen has an excellent 7-2 record this season despite giving up 97 hits in 89 innings.

Rays veteran Ben Zobrist has 10 hits in his 28 at-bats against Chen with a double, a home run and three RBI. Sean Rodriguez has hit a home run off of Chen, but he is just 2-for-17 against him overall.
