Monday night, the Tampa Bay Rays will give the ball to Jake Odorizzi (9 – 10, 3.83 ERA) as they square off against the Baltimore Orioles and Chris Tillman (10 – 5, 3.55 ERA).  It will be the 26th start for Odorizzi and the 28th for Tillman.

Chris Tillman was brilliant in his last start and the effort translated into a victory for him.  In 8 innings of work, Tillman allowed just a run (on a solo homer) and 3 hits while walking a batter and striking out 9.  Tillman has been money in the bank for the Orioles as of late with a 3 – 0 record and just 5 runs allowed in his last 4 starts.  Although he is just 3 – 1 in his last 10 outings, he has pitched better than that record indicates.  Last season, Tillman posted a record of 16 – 7 with an ERA of 3.71 in 33 starts.

In 2013, Tillman was 1 – 3 with a 5.09 ERA in 4 starts against the Rays.  This season, he is 1 – 0 in 2 starts against Tampa Bay.
