Current National League wins leader Adam Wainwright and the St. Louis Cardinals will be taking on 24-year-old Jake Odorizzi and the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night.

Last Wednesday, Adam Wainwright pitched eight strong innings against the Kansas City Royals, but all he could get out of it was a no decision. In those eight innings of work, the right-hander allowed just two runs on four hits while striking out eight and walking two. Wainwright still has an 8-3 record on the year and now has a 2.31 ERA through 93.1 innings.

Rays first baseman James Loney is one guy that Wainwright has never liked facing, giving up 10 hits in 23 at-bats to him against him, which includes three doubles, a home run and two RBI. David DeJesus is 9-for-25 against him with three doubles, a triple and two home runs.

Jake Odorizzi lost for the sixth time this season when he was beaten by the Miami Marlins on the road last week. He went five innings against them and allowed four earned runs on seven hits while walking no one and striking out eight. On the season, Odorizzi has a 5.31 ERA through 57.2 innings, but his FIP is at 3.14, which suggests he has been very unlucky.

Outfielder Peter Bourjos is the only player on the Angels who has gone up against Odorizzi in his career and is 0-for-2 against him.
