On Tuesday night, Tim Lincecum will try to keep the momentum going from his no-hitter when he and the San Francisco Giants take on rookie Marco Gonzales and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Tim Lincecum had easily his best start of the year last week against the San Diego Padres when he was able to pitch his second-career no-hitter against their franchise. He struck out six batters in that great outing while coming just one walk away from his first perfect game. Lincecum is now 6-5 on the year with a 4.42 ERA, but his strikeout rate is down to 8.1 strikeouts per nine innings, which is the lowers strikeout rate of his career.

Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday has 10 hits in his 34 at-bats against Lincecum with two doubles and 11 strikeouts. Allen Craig is 1-for-2 against him and is the only player on the Cardinals who has hit a home run off of the veteran right-hander.

Left-hander Marco Gonzales made his first Major League start last week and ended up with a no decision despite giving up five earned runs to them in five innings of work. He allowed seven hits in that start while striking out three batters and walking two. He had a problem with his command in that game, but that's no surprising considering it was his first time on a big league mound.
