On Wednesday night, Joe Kelly (2-1) will be making his seventh start of the year for the St. Louis Cardinals when they face rookie Jesse Hahn (6-2) and the San Diego Padres.

In his start against the Chicago Cubs last week, Joe Kelly had a short outing and ended up with a no decision for his efforts. He went 4.2 innings in that game and allowed five runs on eight hits while walking two and striking out four. His ERA ballooned up to 3.90, but he has still only given up two home runs in 30 innings.

Padres outfielder Jeff Francoeur is hitless in five at-bats against Kelly with no walks and one strikeout. The Padres who have faced Kelly are a combined 0-for-12 with five strikeouts against him.

Jesse Hahn won his second game in a row last Friday when he was able to defeat the Atlanta Braves on the road. He pitched six innings in that start and allowed one run on three hits while walking three and striking out four. Hahn has had a solid rookie year so far and currently has a 2.12 ERA with 51 strikeouts in 46.2 innings.

All of the Cardinals will be going up against Hahn for the first time on Wednesday night.
