A battle between the top two teams in the National League Central division will emanate from Miller Park in Milwaukee when the Brewers welcome the St. Louis Cardinals to town. The Cardinals are currently in first place in the division and will send Michael Wacha (5-5) to the mound for the start, while the Brewers will counter with Wily Peralta (15-9) to get them a game closer in the standings.

This will be the first time Wacha makes a big league start for the Cardinals since June 17. He has been on the disabled list with shoulder problems and is getting ready to return at the perfect time for the Cardinals and their fans. He is just .500 this season, but has an ERA of 2.79 in 15 starts. In his brief two-year career, Wacha has allowed 11 this in 35 at-bats to current members of the Brewers with Aramis Ramirez owning the lone home run off him.

Facing off against the talented Wacha will be the equally talented and possible Cy Young contender, Peralta. He owns a 3.82 ERA this season in 27 starts and has struck out 122 batters in 165 innings. He may have hit a wall in the past two starts, allowing a total of 13 earned runs in 8 innings, as the Brewers lost by a combined score of 23-4. Due to his poor performance in those starts, his ERA jumped from 3.27 to 3.82. The Brewers could ill-afford another performance like those in this crucial game with the Cardinals.
