On Thursday night, Adam Wainwright will be going for his third win in a row when he and the St. Louis Cardinals take on Josh Beckett and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Adam Wainwright was able to beat the Philadelphia Phillies over the weekend to win his second game in a row and his 10th win of the season. He pitched eight strong innings in that game and gave up just one run on six hits while striking out seven and walking no one. Wainwright has been outstanding for the Dodgers this season and currently has a 10-3 record with a 2.08 ERA.

Andre Ethier is one of only a few Dodgers who have done well against Wainwright, going 9-for-30 against him with three doubles, two home runs and six RBI. Outfielder Matt Kemp has just three hits in 20 at-bats against him with three strikeouts.

Last Saturday, Josh Beckett was able to go seven scoreless innings against the San Diego Padres on the road and he ended up picking up his fifth win of the year. He gave up just four hits in that game while walking two batters and striking out eight. Beckett has been pitching very well this season and currently has a 2.28 ERA, which is one of the best in the National League.

Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday has seven hits in 20 at-bats against Beckett with a double, triple, home run and three RBI.
