On Saturday, Lance Lynn and the St. Louis Cardinals will face All-Star right-hander Zack Greinke and the Los Angeles Dodgers in a battle between two of the best No. 2 pitchers in baseball.

Lance Lynn had the best season of his three-year career after going 15-10 in 33 starts with a very solid 2.74 ERA. He struck out 181 batters in 203.2 innings on the mound while only giving up 13 home runs to opposing hitters. Lynn was 0-2 in his final four starts, but his 2.33 ERA in that time suggests that he didn't get much help from his offense.

Lynn struggled in his two starts against the Dodgers this season by going 1-1 with a 9.00 ERA in eight innings of work. None of the current Dodgers have been able to hit a home run off of Lynn in 94 combined at-bats.

Zack Greinke was excellent for the Dodgers this year and went 17-8 with a 2.71 ERA in 32 starts. In 202.1 innings on the mound this season, the right-hander struck out 9.2 batters per nine innings while only walking 1.9 batters per nine innings. In five September starts, he was 4-0 with a 2.70 ERA.

St. Louis was one of only a few National League teams that Greinke didn't face this year. Catcher A.J. Pierzynski is 21-for-52 against him in his career with three doubles, three home runs and eight RBI.
