St. Louis Cardinals starter Shelby Miller will be going for his eighth win of the year when he faces Jorge De La Rosa and the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday night.

23-year-old Shelby Miller lost his sixth game of the season last week against the Philadelphia Phillies when he gave up four runs in 6.2 innings of work. He gave up seven hits in that game and walked three batters while striking out four. He has only given up 79 hits in 91 innings this year, but he is striking out far fewer batters than he did in his first two seasons.

Miller has gotten the best of Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki in their matchups, striking him out in all three of his at-bats. No one on the Rockies has faced Miller more than three times.

Left-hander Jorge De La Rosa had a bad outing against the Los Angeles Dodgers on the road last week. He went just 3.1 innings in that game and gave up eight runs (seven earned) on six hits while walking five batters and striking out one. He has a 6-6 record now and he has walked 4.3 batters per nine innings, which is a much higher rate than he has last season.

Veteran Jhonny Peralta has just two hits against De La Rosa in his career with eight strikeouts. Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina has five hits in 11 at-bats against him with a home run and two RBI.
