Lefty Jaime Garcia will be making his second start of the season for the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday when they face Tony Cingrani and the Cincinnati Reds.

Jaime Garcia made his long-awaited first start of the season for the Cardinals last Sunday and was able to get through seven innings on just 83 pitches, but he ended up with just a no decision in the outing. He gave up four earned runs on five hits in those seven innings of work while striking out five and walking none. He hit one batters and gave up two home runs in the game, but he pitched well considering it was his first start in over a year.

Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips is 11-for-38 against Garcia in his career with two doubles, two home runs and seven RBI. Zack Cozart is just 4-for-21 against the left-hander.

In his last start, Tony Cingrani went six innings against the Philadelphia Phillies and ended up taking his third loss of the season. He allowed four earned runs in that start on seven hits while striking out seven and walking three. He is now 2-3 on the year with a 3.76 ERA through 38.1 innings.

Cingrani has not given up a home run to any of the current Cardinals, but Matt Carpenter is 4-for-9 against him with a triple and an RBI.
