Shelby Miller (10-9), who is 2-0 with a 0.69 ERA in four starts this month, will be on the mound for the St. Louis Cardinals when they face off against Kyle Hendricks (7-2) and the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday.

Shelby Miller had to settle for a no decision in his start against the Milwaukee Brewers last week after pitching very well in the game. In that start, he gave up two runs (one earned) in six innings of work and walked no one while striking out four. Miller has a 3.68 ERA on the year and he has given up just 155 hits in 178.2 innings.

Cubs third baseman Luis Valbuena is 3-for-7 versus Miller in his career with two walks and a solo home run. Starlin Castro has just one hit in eight at-bats against Miller with no walks and three strikeouts.

Rookie Kyle Hendricks pitched seven strong innings in his start against the Cincinnati Reds last Wednesday and picked up the win. He allowed just one run on seven hits in that game and walked no one while striking out four. He has only given up three home runs in 75 innings this year and he currently has a very solid 2.28 ERA.

Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday has three hits in six plate appearances versus Hendricks with a home run and two RBI. First baseman Matt Adams is hitless in six at-bats against the right-hander with no walks and no strikeouts.
