Second-year starter Taijuan Walker (2-2), who has a 2.40 ERA this month, will get the start for the Seattle Mariners when they face veteran lefty Mark Buehrle (12-10) and the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday night.

Taijuan Walker picked up his first win since June last Friday when he defeated the Houston Astros on the road. He pitched 5.2 innings in that outing and gave up just two runs on eight hits while striking out seven hitters and walking two. Walker now has a 3.00 ERA through seven starts and he has only given up two home runs in 30 innings.

Walker will be going up against the Blue Jays for the first time in his career on Wednesday night. So far this season, left-handed batters are hitting .290 against him and he has held right-handed batters to just a .180 batting average.

Last week, Mark Buehrle gave up five runs in six innings on the mound versus the New York Yankees and took the loss. He allowed eight base hits in that game and walked two batters while striking out three. The left-hander has now given up 225 hits in 194 innings, but he does have a decent 3.53 ERA on the year.

Marlins All-Star Robinson Cano has nine hits in 26 at-bats versus Buehrle with two doubles, three home runs and 11 RBI. First baseman Justin Smoak is hitless in 10 at-bats against the left-hander with no walks and one strikeout.
