On Saturday night, big right-hander Chris Young (12-7) will try to quickly get over his shortest outing of the year when he and the Seattle Mariners face rookie Nick Martinez (3-10) and the Texas Rangers.

On Monday, Chris Young only made it through 0.2 innings against the Oakland Athletics on the road and finished with his seventh loss of the year. He gave up five runs on four hits in that outing and walked two batters without striking anyone out. Young still has a solid 3.46 ERA on the year and he has only given up 127 hits in 151 innings.

Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus is just 1-for-4 against Young in his career, but he has hit a home run off of him. Third baseman Adrian Beltre is 5-for-20 against Young with no walks and five strikeouts.

Nick Martinez ended up with a no decision in his start against the Houston Astros last Sunday after giving up one run in 5.1 innings. He allowed six hits in that start and walked three batters while striking out four. The right-hander now has a 5.14 ERA on the season and he has given up 128 hits in 110.1 innings on the mound.

Mariners outfielder Austin Jackson has three hits in his eight at-bats versus Martinez with a triple and two RBI. Mike Zunino is 0-for-3 against him with no walks and two strikeouts.
