Lefty Roenis Elias is coming off his first-career shutout and will be looking to take that momentum into his next start when the Seattle Mariners go up against Alex Cobb and the Tampa Bay Rays on Saturday afternoon.

Last Sunday, Roenis Elias pitched the best game of his short career by going nine scoreless innings against the Detroit Tigers. He gave up three hits and only walked one batter in those nine innings of work while striking out eight. Through Elias' first 12 Major League starts, he is 4-4 with a 3.53 ERA and he has struck out 65 batters while only giving up seven home runs.

The Rays, who will be facing Elias for the first time on Saturday, can expect to see the left-hander's 92 mph fastball about 55 percent of the time, and his 79 mph curveball about 24 percent of the time.

Alex Cobb lost for the third time this season on Monday when he was defeated by the Miami Marlins on the road. He gave up three earned runs on five hits in his six innings of work that day while walking two and striking out five. Despite his 1-3 record, Cobb has pitched pretty well this season. He has only given up 29 hits through 36.2 innings and he has struck out 32 batters.

Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano is 7-for-21 against Cobb in his career with a double a three home runs.
