Thursday evening, the Seattle Mariners will send Erasmo Ramirez to the mound to face the San Diego Padres and Jesse Hahn.  Ramirez will make his 10th start as Hahn makes his 3rd. 

Erasmo Ramirez pitched to his 3rd straight no-decision in his last start and that kept his record at 1- 4 with a 5.27 ERA.  In that start, Ramirez pitched 5 innings of shutout ball and allowed 3 hits and 4 walks while striking out 4.  Ramirez hasn’t picked up a win since the beginning of April and he might not even match his results of last season when he went 5- 3 with a 4.98 ERA in 13 starts and a relief appearance.

In 2013, Ramirez didn’t face the Padres but he has faced many of their hitters before.  And San Diego is batting .370 with 10 hits, a homer and 5 RBIs in 27 at-bats against the young right-hander.

Jesse Hahn evened his record to 1- 1 with a 3.72 ERA after getting the win in his last start.  In that outing, Hahn pitched a shutout through 6 innings and gave up a hit and 3 walks while striking out 7. Hahn was 2 – 1 with a 2.11 ERA in 8 starts and 3 relief appearances with Double-A San Antonio.

Hahn lacks any experience against the Mariners and he will have to rely on the scouting report to learn enough information about Seattle to have a chance against them.
