Veteran pitcher Chris Young will take the mound for the Seattle Mariners on Monday night and will take on Scott Kazmir and the Oakland Athletics.

Chris Young was finally able to pick up his first win when he beat the New York Yankees last Tuesday. He went 5.2 innings in that game and gave up just one earned runs on two hits while striking out three and walking three. He now has a solid 3.04 ERA through four starts and has give up just 18 hits in 23.2 innings.

No one on the A's has hit a home run off of Young, but Nick Punto has done well against him by going 4-for-8 in their matchups. Young has done well against Coco Crisp in his career, striking him out three times and holding him to just two hits in nine at-bats.

Scott Kazmir maintained his perfect record by picking up his fourth win of the season when he was able to beat the Texas Rangers last week. He went just five innings in that outing, but he held the Rangers to three runs on seven hits while striking out four and walking one. He's given up just nine runs through 38.1 innings for a 2.11 ERA.

Robinson Cano has three home runs and seven RBI against Kazmir in his career, but he has a total of just eight hits in 36 at-bats with 12 strikeouts. Willie Bloomquist is just 2-for-19 against the lefty.
