On Monday, Chris Young (12-6) will try to extend his undefeated streak to eight games when he and the Seattle Mariners face Jason Hammel (1-5) and the Oakland Athletics.

Big right-hander Chris Young only made it through 3.2 innings against the Boston Red Sox in his last start and ended up with a no decision. He gave up three runs on seven base hits in that outing while walking five batters and striking out two. Young currently has a 3.17 ERA and he has only given up 7.4 hits per nine innings this year.

A's All-Star outfielder Brandon Moss has three hits in his nine at-bats versus Young with two home runs and three RBI. Coco Crisp is just 2-for-12 against him with no walks and three strikeouts.

Last Tuesday, Jason Hammel pitched well enough to get the win over the Houston Astros, but all he got out of that start was a no decision. He went seven innings in that game and allowed just one run on three hits while striking out six batters and walking one. Hammel has struck out 131 hitters in 147.2 innings this year and now has a 3.72 ERA.

Mariners All-Star Robinson Cano has 12 hits in 31 at-bats against Hammel in his career with two doubles, a home run and five RBI. Chris Denorfia is 0-for-8 against him with a walk and no strikeouts.
