Chris Young (3-0) will be looking to maintain his perfect record on Friday night when he and the Seattle Mariners face Kyle Gibson (3-3) and the Minnesota Twins.

Veteran pitcher Chris Young was able to pick up his third consecutive win last Saturday by pitching eight strong innings against the Kansas City Royals. He gave up just one run on three hits in those eight innings and struck out three while not walking a batter. His season ERA is now down to 2.63 and he's given up just 24 hits in 37.2 innings.

First baseman Joe Mauer has faced Chris Young six times in his career so far and has just one hit and a walk to show for it.

Kyle Gibson had his worst outing of the season last weekend when he was beaten by the Detroit Tigers on the road. He could only make it through two full innings in that game and gave up six earned runs on seven hits while only striking out one batter and walking one. His ERA went up more than a run to 4.74 in that loss and he is striking out just four batters per nine innings on the season.

Robinson Cano has just one hit against Gibson in five at-bats, but he does have two RBI against him. Michael Saunders is the only Mariner who has hit a home run off of Gibson in his career.
