35-year-old righty Chris Young will be hoping to build off of his first start of the season when the Seattle Mariners go up against Nate Eovaldi and the Miami Marlins.

Chris Young started his first game in the majors since 2012 and was able to go six innings against the Oakland Athletics without giving up a run. He walked three and only struck out two, but the A's could muster just four hits against the big righty. Young's fastball averaged 86 mph in the start, which is the fastest it has been since 2008.

Greg Dobbs is the only player on the Marlins who has faced Young more than six times, but he has only been able to get four hits off of him in 18 career at-bats. Giancarlo Stanton has had success against Young in limited appearances, hitting two of his three hits for home runs in five matchups.

Nate Eovaldi threw the ball accurately against the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday night, but he did give up seven hits and four earned runs in 6.1 innings pitched. He was able to strike out five and walked none in that outing, so the young right-hander looked pretty good despite giving up those runs.

Eovaldi really likes to face the Mariners' Willie Bloomquist, who has zero hits against him in 11 career plate appearances. Corey Hart has also found it hard to figure out Eovaldi, striking out twice and going hitless in seven at-bats.
