Two teams with high hopes and high payrolls kick off the second game of a three game series on Tuesday in Anaheim. The Angels are hoping that an injury free season from Albert Pujols, Josh Hamilton, and others can lead to a more successful season than 2013's third place finish. Right behind them in the AL West were the Mariners who pray that Robinson Cano's championship pedigree can be beneficial to their young roster.

On the mound for Seattle is Erasmo Ramirez, entering his third season in the big leagues. Ramirez started 14 games a year ago and finished 5-3 record but an ERA approaching 5. He allowed 1.5 HR per 9 innings which might be a problem against LAA's power-centric lineup. Ramirez made two starts against the Angels a year ago posting an 0-1 record. Mike Trout and Josh Hamilton have the most experience against Ramirez batting a combined 8-19 with 2 HR.

The Angels counter with C.J. Wilson who begins his third season with the team. Despite Los Angeles' struggles a year ago Wilson had an impressive season with a 17-7 record and a 3.39 ERA. That record was padded by going 3-1 against the Mariners a year ago and pitching into the 9th in his only loss against the team. Wilson typically takes his time tuning up his arm to start the season with his 9th start in 2013 marking the 1st time he pitched beyond the 6th. Cano is batting .367 against Wilson in his career.
