On Friday night, Hisashi Iwakuma will try to make it four wins in a row when he and the Seattle Mariners face off against Jered Weaver and the Los Angeles Angels.

Hisashi Iwakuma pitched a season-high 8.2 innings against the Oakland Athletics last week and was able to win his eighth game of the year. He allowed just two runs on five hits in that start while striking out eight and walking zero. On the season, he now has an 8-4 record with a 2.98 ERA and he has struck out 80 batters in 96.2 innings.

Veteran outfielder Josh Hamilton has just two hits in his 12 at-bats against Iwakuma, but he is the only player on the Angels with a home run off of the right-hander. Second baseman Howie Kendrick is 5-for-16 against Iwakuma with three doubles.

Angels ace Jered Weaver won his 10th game of the year last Saturday when he defeated the Texas Rangers on the road. He pitched seven innings in that game and gave up just two runs while striking out three and walking three. Weaver is now 10-6 for the Angels this season and he has only given up 106 hits in 125.1 innings.

Mariners first baseman Justin Smoak is 9-for-31 against Weaver in his career with two doubles, three home runs and eight RBI. Veteran Endy Chavez is just 3-for-17 against him with four strikeouts.
