On Sunday, Hisashi Iwakuma (14-8) will try to stop his losing streak at two games when he and the Seattle Mariners go up against Collin McHugh (10-9) and the Houston Astros.

Hisashi Iwakuma had one of his worst starts of the year last week when he was beaten by the Los Angeles Angels on the road. He gave up seven earned runs in 3.1 innings of work that day while striking out four batters and walking two. Iwakuma now has a 3.42 ERA and he has only walked one batter per nine innings this year.

Astros second baseman Jose Altuve has nine hits in his 22 at-bats versus Iwakuma with two doubles and four RBI. Designated hitter Chris Carter is just 3-for-20 against him in his career with two walks and eight strikeouts.

Right-hander Collin McHugh won his fourth game in a row last Monday when he beat the Cleveland Indians at home. He gave up just one unearned run in 6.2 innings that day while striking out seven and walking no one. McHugh has a very good 2.66 ERA this season and he has only given up 113 hits in 148.2 innings to opposing hitters.

Mariners first baseman Michael Saunders is 3-for-10 against McHugh in his career with a home run and three RBI. All-Star Robinson Cano only has two hits against him in 12 plate appearances with no walks and four strikeouts.
