25-year-old Roenis Elias will be getting the start for the Seattle Mariners on Friday night and will have to go up against seven-game winner Chris Sale and the Chicago White Sox.

Last Saturday, rookie Roenis Elias had a rough game against the Cleveland Indians and ended up taking his sixth loss of the season. He pitched six innings in that outing and gave up five earned runs on six hits while walking two and striking out two. Elias has a 7-6 record with a 3.96 ERA and he has only given up 89 hits in 104.2 innings of work this season.

All of the White Sox will be facing Elias for the first time on Friday night.

In his 12th start of the season last Saturday, lefty Chris Sale pitched seven strong innings against the Toronto Blue Jays on the road and came away with his seventh win of the year. He gave up just two earned runs on four base hits in that outing while striking out six and walking a season-high five batters. Sale has been excellent for the White Sox in 2014, going 7-1 with a 2.30 ERA and he has struck out 84 hitters in 78.1 innings.

Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano has four this against Sale in 12 at-bats with two doubles and three strikeouts. Third baseman Kyle Seager is 0-for-3 against him with no strikeouts.
