Saturday afternoon, the Seattle Mariners will take the field behind Chris Young (12 - 6, 3.07 ERA) as they face the Boston Red Sox and Brandon Workman (1 - 7, 4.26 ERA). It will be Young's 25^th start and 26^th appearance and Workman's 12^th start and 16^th appearance.

He walked 2 and struck out 5. But his offense didn't take advantage of the good start and it put Workman on the hook again. Workman's lone victory came back in early June and just 1 run secured that victory. In his rookie campaign in 2013, Workman posted a 6 -3 record with a 4.97 ERA in 3 starts and 17 relief appearances.

Last season, Workman was 1 - 0 with a 4.50 ERA in a start and a relief appearance against the Mariners. Seattle is batting .333 against Workman with 7 this and 3 RBIs in 21 at-bats.
