On Sunday afternoon, Hisashi Iwakuma (9-5) will make his first start in August after a hot July when he and the Seattle Mariners go up against Chris Tillman (7-5) and the Baltimore Orioles.

Hisashi Iwakuma pitched very well against the Cleveland Indians on the road on Tuesday and was able to pick up the win. He allowed just two runs in seven innings of work that day while walking one and striking out six. Through 17 starts, he has a 3.06 ERA and he has only given up 108 hits in 117.2 innings on the mound.

Orioles outfielder Delmon Young has four hits in eight plate appearances against Iwakuma with a double, two home runs and four RBI. Shortstop J.J. Hardy is 0-for-6 against him with three strikeouts.

Big right-hander Chris Tillman pitched five innings against the Los Angeles Angels in his last start and ended up with a no decision. He allowed five runs (three earned) on six hits in that game while striking out six batters and walking one. Tillman now has a 3.97 ERA on the season and he has walked 3.4 batters per nine innings.

Mariners All-Star second baseman Robinson Cano has 11 hits in his 25 at-bats against Tillman with a double, two home runs and eight RBI. Kyle Seager has just one hit against him in 10 at-bats with two walks and four strikeouts.
