Veteran right-hander Tim Hudson will be making the start for the San Francisco Giants when they take on Jordan Zimmermann and Washington Nationals in Game 2 of the NLDS on Saturday night.

38-year-old Tim Hudson made the All-star team this season and finished with a 9-13 record with a 3.57 ERA in 31 starts. He did give up 9.5 hits per nine innings, but he only walked 1.6 batters per nine innings. Hudson did struggle down the stretch by going 0-4 in his last four starts with an 8.64 ERA.

One reason Hudson is getting the Game 2 start against the Nationals has to be because he went 2-0 against them this season with a 0.73 ERA. Outfielder Jayson Werth has done well against Hudson in his career by getting 17 hits in 44 at-bats with four doubles and four home runs.

Jordan Zimmermann had the best season of his career this year by going 14-5 with a 2.66 ERA in 32 starts. He had the lowest walk rate in the league with 1.3 walks per nine innings while striking out 82 batters per nine innings. He won his last four starts, including a 10-strikeout no-hitter in his last start.

Zimmermann was 0-0 in two starts against the Dodgers this year with a 1.74 ERA. Outfielder Hunter Pence is 8-for-20 against the right-hander in his career with two home runs and four RBI.
