Current ERA and wins leader Adam Wainwright will take the mound for the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday and will be facing Madison Bumgarner and the San Francisco Giants.

Adam Wainwright was able to pick up his eighth win of the season by pitching eight scoreless innings against the Cincinnati Reds. He gave up just five hits in that outing and struck out a season-high 12 batters while walking just one. He now has an 8-2 record and a fantastic 1.67 ERA through 11 starts. He has also given up just 53 hits in his 81 innings of work.

Angel Pagan has done well against Wainwright in their matchups by getting six hits off of him in 15 at-bats. Outfielders Hunter Pence and Michael Morse are the only Giants who have hit home runs off of the right-hander.

On Sunday, Madison Bumgarner was able to get his sixth win of the year by pitching seven strong innings against the Minnesota Twins. He gave up just one run in that game and struck out 10 batters while walking no one. In 65.2 innings this season, Bumgarner has a 3.15 ERA and has struck out 75 batters.

Cardinals second baseman Mark Ellis has just two hits in 11 at-bats versus Bumgarner. Jon Jay is 4-for-9 against him with two doubles, an RBI and a walk against the right-hander.
