In Game 2 of the NLCS on Sunday, San Francisco Giants starter Jake Peavy will take on Lance Lynn and the St. Louis Cardinals. Both starters will be making their second appearances of the postseason.

In Jake Peavy's first start of the postseason, he was able to beat the Washington Nationals in Game 1 of the NLDS. In that outing, he pitched 5.2 scoreless innings and struck out three batters while walking three.

Peavy didn't get a chance to face the Cardinals during the regular season this year. Outfielder Matt Holliday has nine hits in 30 at-bats against the right-hander with a home run and six RBI. Veteran Jhonny Peralta is just 7-for-35 against him with three walks and eight strikeouts, but he has hit one home run off of him..

Lance Lynn made the 22nd postseason start of his career in Game 2 of the NLDS last week when he took a no decision against the Los Angeles Dodgers. In that game, he gave up just two runs in six innings and struck out eight while walking two.

Lynn made one start against the Giants this season and ended up losing that game after giving up seven runs (four earned) in 3.1 innings of work. Giants catcher Buster Posey has four hits in six plate appearances against Lynn in his career with a home tun and four RBI.
