Something's got to give when Matt Cain (0-2) goes up against the unlucky Tyson Ross (1-2) and the Padres. Giants fans who were whispering that Cain had lost his zip after giving up 5 runs in 6 innings to the Dodgers were immediately silenced as the 29-year-old allowed only 4 hits and 1 run to the Rockies, only to lose 0-1. Cain's ERA could definitely be better as it stands at 4.00 on the year but the Giants have scored just 6 runs in his 3 starts.

Cain hasn't faced the Padres yet this season and made only one start a year ago. The pitcher did not get a decision but gave up just 2 runs on 2 solo home runs while pitching 7 innings.
