Veteran right-hander Tim Hudson (9-11) will try to snap his current two-game losing streak when he and the San Francisco Giants take on Odrisamer Despaigne (3-7) and the San Diego Padres on Friday night.

Last Saturday against the Los Angeles Dodgers, Tim Hudson lost his second start in a row in what ended up being his worst outing of the year. Hudson only made it through one inning in that game and gave up six runs on eight base hits while striking out two and walking no one. Hudson has a 3.41 ERA on the year and he has given up 187 hits in 179.2 innings.

Padres outfielder Cameron Maybin has nine base hits in 24 at-bats against Hudson in his career with a double, a home run and four RBI. Will Venable is 4-for-25 against the right-hander with a walk, a home run and seven strikeouts.

Rookie Odrisamer Despaigne lost his second game in a row on Sunday when he was beaten by the Arizona Diamondbacks on the road. He gave up five runs (three earned) in 5.2 innings that day while striking out two batters and walking three. He now has a 3.63 ERA after that loss and he has only given up six home runs in 89.1 innings.

Giants outfielder Gregor Blanco has two hits in his five at-bats against Despaigne with a double and a solo home run. Michael Morse only has one hit in six at-bats against him with no walks and a strikeout.
